Jasmine Tea Rice
2 cups (500 mL) jasmine green tea (strained)
1 cup (250 mL) basmati rice
Salt and pepper, to taste
1. First, rinse the basmati rice very well under cool running water, about 5 minutes. Then, soak the rice in a bowl of fresh cool water for at least 30 minutes, and up to two hours.
2. Bring the jasmine tea to a boil in a saucepan. Add the drained basmati rice and cook according to directions on rice package (usually covered on low heat for 25 minutes, then remove from heat for 5 minutes, then remove lid, fluff and serve. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
